Funding Area
Community
Supporting community-led work to shift resources equitably and address barriers to social and economic inclusion in Canada.
Centering lived experiences to advocate for equitable futures
In 2025 our Communities funding focused on a range of areas with one central goal: to shift power to communities so they can take the lead on solutions. Some groups were involved in fights for justice and rights, others worked on economic equity or housing and land. Many did this work through deep collaboration, recognizing that solving systemic social problems require collective action, new alliances and diverse groups leveraging each other’s strengths. We are proud of the leadership of these organizations and the impact they are having to create a more just and equitable Canada.
